Membership Information & Requirements

All candidates are required to fulfill the requirements below in order to be initiated. Once initiated, members are expected to maintain active status each semester until graduation to receive honor cords. Members may be exempted from requirements during a one-semester internship. Membership applications will NOT be accepted in the semester of graduation.

Academic Requirements

Undergraduate Students:

Must have:
  • A declared major in Accounting, Finance, or MIS.1
  • Completion of one 3000 or 4000 course beyond your Business core.1
  • Either a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all college work or a 3.25 for the last 30 hours 

Graduate Students:

Must have:
  • A declared major/concentration in Accounting, Finance or MIS.
  • Completion of one upper level course in your major.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all Graduate courses at UHCL.

Professional Development

Speaker Meetings = 20 points each

Etiquette Luncheon = 40 points

Career Expo = 40 points


Tutoring

BAP Tutoring Lab = 20 points per hour

Practice Set Tutoring = 30 points per hour


Community Service

Ronald McDonald House = 20 points per hour

Blessings in a Backpack = 20 points per hour

Bay Area Wildlife = 20 points per hour

Fun Run = 40 points

BAP table at school events = 10 points per hour

Class Visits = 20 points for every 3 classes, otherwise 5 points per class


Social

50 points per event


Fundraising

Hawk Sales = 20 points per hour

Rose Sale = 20 points per hour (members)

Rose Sale = 100 points (candidates - must stay the entire time)


Officers**

Officer Position = 50 points

Officer Meetings = 20 points per meeting
